The Atoka County Chamber of Commerce will be serving a $5 lunch as Mr. Bell, President of the Jefferson Highway Association, relates the interesting history of which our county is so much a part of! The Jefferson Highway originally came through Stringtown, Atoka, and Tushka. Today, it basically follows Highway 69, but once followed Ohio Avenue as it came through Atoka. Governor Kevin Stitt recently signed a bill declaring the Jefferson Highway a historic byway, and signs are being placed to mark the Highway.
